THE TRAVEL PHOTOS AT LAST............... |
EGYPT- THE MYTH & LEGEND |

|
Guys and Girls.. This trip started in what seemed to be a way,
filled with adventure. My dream forever has been to ride the pyramids of Giza on
horseback. Ahh.. Another dream fulfilled.....
Giza - July98 |
The Baksheesh man on camel back, is what we called him.He swore
blind that no baksheesh was going to be asked and that he was extending the Egyptian way.
No so indeed he said. It was a laugh, he definitely added to the
excitement of the Pyramids.

Hi, its me... Rebekah
By now you all know what I look like and even some
of the action in my life.
"So you want to know some stuff about me
now!" I love life, and to live it to the fullest for me, is to be in nature along
with its magnificent surroundings. It must be the reason I love to travel, as I always see
amazing things.
But in Sydney My Life are my boats. On
Australian Waters and also other parts of the world. How could one love a job so
much. The people I meet are great and to have the freedom of the Waters, is Spiritual.
I manage Australian Travel Specialists - Quayside Charters. I have been
dedicated to Charter boats for two and a half years with Quayside Charters, prior to that
I had returned from London after working with the boats on the Thames River for the same
amount of time. I have experience the Rhine River boats in Germany and in Vancouver,
the charters there as well.
So you can see I love my job and all the
experiences I have gained. I have seen throughout my travels many boats and by far
Sydney Harbours boats are most magnificent. You can do anything on the water
anywhere and even under it, wherever you like.
So Boats and Travelling, but there is one
other.....Hairdressing.
I studied Ladies and Men's Hairdressing for 3 years
at TAFE and completed a 4 year apprenticeship. I have managed through my day some of
Sydney and London's Top Hairdressing Salons. On my return home I decided it was time to
begin my own. "OffYourHead Mobile Hairdressing". That's how
it started.
I advertised in Metro and 3D magazines, and picked
up some really cool clients. Some who are clients and friends to this day.
OffYourHead was started up to offer my service to business men and women who needed a
mobile service. I also targeted the Hotels for Weddings. I love to
do upstyles and I have a great imagination. Most importantly I am great at cutting
for both Men and Women. It was a great start. I worked hard for a year with
OffYourHead, and built it up to a business I was able to live on. It is a very
useful trade to have and especially whilst your travelling. It certainly has helped
me and many of my friends out with a haircut. It still runs although my clientele is
selected to allow for my passion of boats.
So with my travel and my love of boats, I feel that
travelling is the best way for me to describe myself as it explains much of each of my
passions.
I have travelled now for 9 years off and on, and I
have only just returned to Australia from yet another experience. I still manage to
get 4 or 5 weeks off a year to scratch my itchy feet. This way I have the best of
Australia and the world.
I headed over to see my Mum in Israel and to meet
up with Lois my friend who has been away for 7 months. Mum was still in Canada when
I arrived. Together Lois and I experienced Israel and Jordan together with Noemi. I
then continued my travels with mum through Egypt.
I'd like to show you some of my travels, introduce
you to some of the people I met along the way, and reaquaint you with people you haven't
seen for a while.
The people I met were wonderful. They have brought
new thoughts and knowledge to my mind. We have challenged each other and spoke of so
much in such a short length of time.
All in the name of travel.
My mum, she has also shared many of my adventures.
After herself, having only just returned from the ice in Canada.
She arrived back to her home in Tel Aviv to receive a telephone call from me, telling her
to come to meet me in Jordan.
The next day she arrived in Petra. :)
By this stage I was in all sorts of mischief.
I was travelling with Lois and Noemi and we had been adopted by some Bedoiuns.
Abdula and Abdula. Our adventure installed the evening mum arrived was to
sleep in the desert, under the stars. I wasn't sure mum would be up to it, but she showed
her travel spirits and spent the night sleeping on boulders of rock in Wadi Musa near
Little Petra.
That wasn't all she got up to.....
